Individual Player Photo for AYF Book Certification
Photos will be taken on August 12, 2014 @ 6:00
This photo is taken as part of the required documentation that identifies each player for book certification. Please note that if the books are not complete for each team then that team does not get certified and therefore is unable to participate in any SYFC/AYF game, scrimmage etc. We cannot stress the importance of attending this date. In the past we have been able to make arrangements as a make up date however; as our system has changed so has AYF requirements.
Please mark your calendars.... each player must attend!
We are excited to announce a change in the structure of the football program beginning this year. Specifically, we will be offering a flag football option for our youngest players, provided that there is sufficient interest. The intent of this change in the program is to introduce the game of football to 2nd and 3rd Graders in a fun, less competitive environment without the time commitment required for contact football. Here are the details.
Does it cost the same as contact football? No, the cost will be $150.
Is there as much practice required as contact football? No, we anticipate practice would start in late August, and there would be 1-2 practices per week after Labor Day.
When will the games be played? We have not yet developed the game schedule, but we intend to have a total of 6 to 8 games to be played typically on Sunday mornings.
Who can participate? 2nd and 3rd Graders.
What if my 3rd Grader wants to play contact football? He can play on the 4th Grade team, which will now be a combined 3rd/4th Grade team.
Will we play other towns? We are working on creating a schedule and hope to have a mix of in-town and out-of-town opponents.
Who is the Grade Coordinator? Amy Dooley has kindly agreed to be the grade coordinator. She is still getting up to speed, but is excited to help recruit new player and families. Please feel free to reach out to Amy at
How do I register? Go to www.sudburyyouthfootballandcheer.com and click on 2014 Online Registration. If you want to register your 2nd/3rd Grader for flag football, you can do so there. You can also register your 3rd Grader for the 3rd/4th Grade contact team there as well. The same information and paperwork is required for flag football as contact football.
When is the deadline to register? Since this is a new program, we need to know the numbers as soon as possible. We will need some lead time to order the necessary equipment and put the schedule together.
What if I have already registered for the 2nd or 3rd Grade team already? You have a few options. If you have a 3rd Grader, he can play contact football with the 3rd/4th Grade team, or he can play flag football. If you have a 2nd Grader, he can play flag football. Of course, you can also choose not to play this year if this program change does not suit your needs. Please contact Tony Rizzotti at
and let him know what you would like to do. We will of course issue the appropriate refunds for anyone not playing contact football.
We hope that this will be a fun and exciting addition to the program. Please register now and encourage your friends to register now too!
